Ahrens Valley Eyeworks Ahrens Valley Eyeworks was established in the fall of 1995. After over 30 years in the Optical field, and a license to practice Opticianry, I had the opportunity and ambition to establish an Eye Care Practice close to home. The creation of this Vision facility offered the kind of family feel and warmth that I had seen disappearing in the later years of this profession. The basis of this practice entailed the highest quality standards, yet never underscoring the personal touch and individual attention that we offer each and every customer. Our facility offers Comprehensive Eye exams, Great service, and a staff of dedicated and caring professionals. Both Dr. Nguyen and myself bring many years of experience and skills to Monroe, Washington and the neighboring Sky Valley Communities. We provide this in a relaxed and family oriented facility where every one is greeted, and treated the very best. With the ever-changing technologies and medical advances of today, both Doctor Nguyen and I, are continually updating our license requirements with continuing Ed courses. We then bring all the new and exciting advances to the practice, in form of frame collections, new lens designs, contact lenses, and medical updates. The Eye care field is a multi faceted profession. The Eye exam must be accurate and thorough, the frame selection and lens choice, be streamlined to each individuals unique differences and requirements. These services cannot be rushed. Each person has his or her own unique look. Each face shape differs, each set of eyes lay out differently on the face. All lifestyle visual needs differ. A pair for computer use, to a set for night driving, from water sports, to a set for the workshop. It’s extensive. Lens correction, and materials, fashion, color and design, comfort and lens options, are a few of what goes into a great set of glasses. They are all interwoven and equally important. Today’s incredible array of lens choices, and the vast frame designs from the world over, must be individualized to each patient before the sale takes place. Ahrens Valley Eyeworks is a place that will provide an approach to eye care a bit different from what you have been used to. ![]() Richard Ahrens, L.D.O.In August of 1973, after joining the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, I branched into the Ocular field. After leaving the service in 1977, I found work in the eye care field practicing in both low end and high-end establishments. This was crucial in gaining a wide overview of the profession. In 1981, I sat for the Washington State Opticians Exam, and was awarded the Health care license of Dispensing Optician. Over the next several years, I have been fortunate to gather experience from both the clinical, as well as the retail side of the profession. Early on I worked in areas of big chain retail, and found my calling instead, in the smaller more personalized boutique settings. In 1995, I established Ahrens Valley Eyeworks an Optometric facility that combines the best of my experiences. I bring these elements to Monroe, and the neighboring Sky valley communities, in a relaxed and inviting place of vision. ![]() Trinh T. Nguyen, O.D.Trinh T. Nguyen, O.D. performed her undergraduate work-studies at the University of Washington. Dr. Nguyen received her Doctor of Optometry with Honors from Pacific University in 2002. Before joining Ahrens Valley Eyeworks, Dr. Nguyen served as Staff Optometrist for the Alderwood Vision Therapy Center, a Clinic specializing in children eye turns and visual dysfunctions. She has also worked with Volunteer Optometric Services for Humanity, where she helps the underprivileged. She has traveled to Oregon and Egypt to provide eye care for the less fortunate populations. We are thrilled to have Dr. Nguyen as a member of our staff, her warmth and professionalism has won over our patients and the community. Dr. Nguyen has enjoying living in the Pacific Northwest since 1991. |
